OVERCOAT DOCUMENTED BY JACK WEBB

OVERCOAT is a unisex brand launched by Ryuhei Oomaru in 2015. OVERCOAT is inspired by Oomaru's surroundings in New York, and the collection pieces pursue comfort with focus on patternmaking.

After gradutating from Bunka Fashion College, Oomaru started his professional career at Comme Des Garcons. In 2006, he relocated to New York. In 2008, Oomaru established Oomaru Seisakusho 2, a product development studio providing design and patternmaking services to brands in New York.

OVERCOAT has collaborated with many artists such as Peter Miles, Jack Webb, Rirkrit Tiravanija, and Richard Kern. Oomaru continues to create his clothes in his studios in New York and Tokyo.
